Escritorio: letters across a century

The production showcases dramatic readings of family letters written across a century of Negrense history: from the revolution in 1988 to American colonization, Japanese occupation, people power at Edsa to the present time which is marked by the disintegration of the hacienda system and labor diaspora, and the socio-economic issues that reflect how the Negrense lifestyle and political landscape have changed in the last 100 years. The dramatic narrative is rendered in several voices: patriarch, mother, brother, son and daughter.

The production brings together the following arts: literature, theatre, music, visual arts and architecture.
